Namibia’s tourist trump card is the famous Etosha National Park. At 22 270 sq km; it is one the largest game reserves in Africa consisting of contrasting vegetation features. About 114 species of mammals are found in the park with Etosha’s elephants reputed to be the tallest in the world. Its floodlit waterholes attract a variety of game species ranging from small antelopes to big game like the elephant, lion, giraffe, rhino, etc, giving the rare opportunity to see some shy and nocturnal wildlife. Waterberg Plateau Park, established in the 1970s as a sanctuary for the rare and endangered game species of the Caprivi forms a stark contrast with Etosha.
